In the lecture The Rites of Passage, I learn that rituals are not only a religious or magic fact, but they are symbols in that they assert something about the state of affairs. Rites occur throughout our life. For example, every new years, every Christmas or any other holidays, people always celebrate because it is rites that we have learn since we were little. Rites it is like everything we incorporate in our growth and that we do not change no matter happen. And everything seems related to culture because rites part of our culture; it is kind of what we believe in and what we considered important. By wanted to become a teacher, I can say that I am learning a lot about who I am and what is in this and the several meanings of one word. Of course it is necessary to know those things because when you are dealing with students we have to expect any type of questions and be ready to answer.
According the author, Facing Mount Kenya was a document in the anthropological of literature, and was considered as a valuable key to the organization of the African society and their nature. It is not only a formal study of humans’ life, but a work of considerable literary merit. In Addition, the author showed how compassionate those people are and the values of their life.
From the lecture SITTING QUIETLY REVEALS CROCODILE'S TRICKS, you will discover different stories on how those African man acts with the wife and children and also it will give you an image of the actions and personality of their wives. Also you see in the story how a child act and his actions are so unconscious.
